How to tie a CDC Splitwing dry fly with a sighter

In this fly tying tutorial, Gordon van der Spuy shows you how to tie a CDC Splitwing dry fly. The Splitwing is a very good fly to use on its own, or can be used effectively on a dry-dropper rig. Its bushy CDC wing gives the fly great buoyancy and a lot of movement. The fly is a go-to pattern for competition anglers all over the world.
