In this short video, Pieter Snyders shares one of his favourite small stream patterns – the Puff Daddy. What makes this little insignificant fly his favourite? The Puff Daddy is easy to tie, so you can fill a box very quickly, and it’s very versatile on the water. The fly can either be fished as a dry fly when proofed well, or fished submerged like a soft hackle or unweighted nymph.
If you need a video reference of the fly, we prepared a short clip of Pieter tying the fly. As you’ll see, it is very simple! You can adapt the colours of the fly to match any mayfly in your area.
