Red Rock River Camp

Join us on our hosted trip from 29 September 20 to 4 October 2024 to one of the most special locations on the Orange River – the Red Rock River Camp.
Red Rock River Camp is an adventure eco campsite on the banks of the lower Orange River in the Onseepkans Settlement, Khai District. The camp offers lush green lawns with big shady trees, boma fire pits, and braai facilities, a communal kitchen, hot showers outdoors, and clean bathroom facilities.
Because of Red Rock River Camp’s unique structure, it is one of the Northern Cape’s premier Largemouth and Smallmouth fly fishing venues.
When
The trip starts on 29 September 2024, when we meet each other at the camp. We’ll spend the evening at the basecamp prepping gear.
On the morning of the 30th of September, we start our adventure and drift into the breathtaking lower gorge where our camp will be moved every day to a new spot.
We finish the drift on the afternoon of the 3rd of October when we’ll be transferred to the base camp again.
Guests depart on 4 October.
Where
The camp is located next to the R358 at the Onseepkans Border Post, which is 50km from Pofadder which is situated at the intersection of the R358 and the N14
Fishing on the gorge drift
The main target species at Red Rock river camp is the Smallmouth and Largemouth Yellowfish. A moderate level of fitness is required for this 38km drift, more paddling is needed and you will experience more rapids that will be navigated during the drift. This section is more suitable for the adventurous angler looking to target largemouth yellowfish as you will have more rock structure and deeper holes to work with.
