CDC, or cul de canard, is a duck feather harvested from the area around the bird’s preen gland. These feathers are naturally water repellant and, therefore, make for an excellent dry fly material.
It may be used to form every part of the fly from the abdomen to the wing and thorax. The fine fibers also trap micro air bubbles, making CDC a great addition to emerger and nymph patterns.
This CDC comes from Cookshill and is top quality with fine stems and thin, full fibers. Each packet comes with a decent amount of feathers.
