Are you ready for an unforgettable day of fly fishing fun? If you are between the ages of 9 and 16, join us at the Youth Fly Fishing Festival on the 29th of October, at the Fresnea Sports Club. The event is open to Youth Anglers of all skill levels, from first-timers interested in learning about how to get started in flyfishing to the more experienced hands wanting to improve their knowledge and skill, under the tutelage of some of South Africa’s best Fly Anglers.
Event Highlights
Opening Address
Opening Address – Discover who we are, what the Cape Piscatorial Society and Western Province Fly Fishing Association do, and learn about competitive angling and the colourful world of flyfishing and conservation.
Workshops and Demonstrations
- Stillwater and River workshops with Protea Anglers
- Tying area – Learn to tie your own fly with Published Author, Gordon Van Der Spuy
- Tackle Up – Learn to rig up and build a nymphing setup with WPFFA Youth Coach, Luke Van Der Heever
- Casting lesson – Hone your accuracy and distance skills with IFFF casting Instructors
- Casting Competition – Test your newfound skills and compete for the title!
