Stream and Sea is proud to work together with the Somerset West Trout and Stout Club and Gordon van der Spuy to bring you a clinic dedicated to learn how to fish the Cape Streams. This clinic is aimed at both the novice and experienced angler who would like to get started on our home waters.
This clinic feeds out of the Fly Tying Event held on 28 November and, therefore, would be greatly beneficial if you join us for that event too.
What You’ll Learn at the Clinic
This clinic will mean different things to anglers of different experience levels. We encourage anglers of all skill levels to join us. Some of the topics covered will be:
- Ideal gear and setups that work on the Cape Streams
- Leaders
- Entomology and fly selection
- How to approach a run
- How to read water
- Good catch and release principles
- How to cast a dry fly
There are tons of small tips and tricks that will come out during the day that are impossible to list here. If there are specific things you would want to learn, please note them down and bring them along.
What is Included
- Tuition for the day
