This fly tying workshop, presented by Gordon van der Spuy (aka the Feather Mechanic), focuses on those tiny details (klein jakkalsies) in fly tying that often get overlooked. Small details make a big difference but in many instances, tiers aren’t aware of them. The path the fly tying enlightenment lies in understanding the logic behind what you’re doing when you are tying a fly.

This workshop will not teach you how to tie “10 killer patterns”. Through Gordon’s expertise and proven methods, he will give you the tools to understand why those patterns are effective and to incorporate this newly gained knowledge in whatever pattern you’re tying. The idea is to get people thinking and not just following.
