What’s Happening?
- Cape Streams 101 (10:30)— by Protea angler Maddy Rich. A deep dive into prepping for the stream season. Maddy walks us through tactics across the season, explaining how to adapt as conditions change.
- Saltwater 101 (12:00)— with Jimmy Eagleton, Jimmy sets the groundwork for Western Cape saltwater success—gear, tactics, and locations.
- Freshwater Conservation Update (13:30) — with Jeremy Shelton & the Freshwater Research Centre, learn what’s happening in our rivers and the latest conservation work. A look beneath the surface at the ecosystems we cherish.
Fly Tying Station
- Hands-on support from some of SA’s finest fly tiers like Richie Wale, Le Roux Roos, Andre van Wyk, Platon Trakoshis and Gordon van der Spuy.
Casting Tuition
- Ongoing throughout the day with certified casting instructors Andy van der Werff and Leslie Theart.
Exhibitors
- Browse and support amazing local makers including: Johann du Preez, Stephen Boshoff and Chris Bladen: featuring art, custom rods, premium flies & more.
Competitions
- Test your skills in our fly tying and casting comps, prizes and bragging rights await!

Cost: R50 per person books you a spot. All proceeds go to support the Freshwater Research Centre and their conservation efforts.
