10 March 2023 Social Tying Evening

Join us on Friday, 10 March, 6pm at the Cape Piscatorial Society Club House for our next Social Tying Event. These events are aimed at creating an open community for everyone who loves fly fishing and fly tying. If you’ve always wanted to give fly fishing (or tying) a go, please feel free to join!

This is a tie-along event, so please bring your vice, tools, and thread along. We’ll cover the rest of the materials. If you don’t have a vice and want to give fly tying a go, please reach out to us and we’ll sort you out.

This time around we’re looking at two must-have ant patterns that help you catch those tricky Trout (and Smallmouth Yellowfish).

Booking is essential and costs R250, which includes the following:

• All the fly tying material for the flies, including extra to practice the pattern at home
• A pizza
• A beer
• Entry into the evening’s raffle

There’s also a non-tying option that costs R200, which includes the following:

• A pizza
• A beer
• Entry to the evening’s raffle

Why do we do online bookings?

Some of you might wonder why we do online bookings, and it’s a great question. Here are the reasons:

• It helps us prepare better if we know exactly how many attendees there will be. We pre-pack all the materials and and want to ensure that each person receives their own fly tying pack.
• We can manage to ordering of food a lot better
• Probably the main perk for you as a guest to one of our events is that you qualify for a 10% discount on any pre-orders. That means we send you a discount coupon that can be used on our site prior to the event. Your order will be waiting at the event with your fly tying materials.
