Cape Streams Day Experience

Info pack

Thank you for booking your Cape Streams Day Experience with us. We look forward spending the time with you on our home waters.

The purpose of this page is to answer any questions you might have about your day out, and also to cover some important information. If you have any questions about the day that we did not cover, please reach out to us directly.

The itinerary will vary depending on the time of year as this influences sunrise times and water temperatures. The exact times and sequence of events may change, however this is generally how the days go.

06:00 You meet up with your guide at the Stream and Sea fly shop in Paarl. The location may change depending on the exact river and time you are fishing, or location that you stay.

07:00 Arrive at the designated parking where you’ll get all your gear ready for the hike. Depending on the beat you’re fishing, the hike can vary between 5 and 90 minutes. The beat selection will be done according to availability, your fitness level and how well beats are fishing.

07:30 Arrive at the beat and setup your fishing rig. Your guide will cover basic river safety related items and take you through the basics of the techniques that are going to be used for the day.

07:45 Start fishing

12:00 Stop for a relaxed lunch. You can order lunch packs from us (see below), or you can pack your own.

12:30 Start fishing

14:00 If you booked a full day guided session, rods up is at 14:00 where the hike back will commence.

17:00 If you booked an extended guided day, rods up is at 17:00 where the hike back will commence.
