The Western Cape offers some of the best and most scenic trout rivers in South Africa. Situated very close to Paarl, we would love to share this incredible venue with you on a Cape Streams Day Experience.
Our guides are experienced anglers who fish on these rivers every week.
We approach the day on the water slightly differently. Instead of only being a guided day where your main focus is catching fish, our day experience aims to provide you with all the knowledge you need to go out on the Cape Streams on your own.
Yes, you will catch fish, but we will feel like we’ve accomplished what we’ve set out to do when you tell us you’re going to the Streams with your friends.
The Cape Streams open for fishing on 1 September and close on 31 May each year. The prime time being mid-September to December, and then from April to May.
You can expect to learn a variety of techniques which include euro nymphing, micro streamer fishing, dry fly and dry and dropper flyfishing etc. The experience will also touch on basic casting techniques, identifying aquatic insects (entomology), reading water, and lastly, good catch and release principles.
The aim of Cape Streams Day Experience is to learn how to successfully target Rainbow Trout on fly in a small stream environment. This experience caters for beginners (women and men looking to do fly fishing for the first time), more advanced anglers, and children (parental attendance essential or parent and child fly fishing experience).
We also have the flexibility to do custom experiences including corporate fly fishing events.
