C&F Design Universal System Fly Patch

R420.00

The C&F Universal System Fly Patch is a hanging fly patch built for anglers who like ready-access to their most used flies. It works with the C&F “universal system foam” inserts—take the foam from your system fly case or boat box and hang it from your chest using the patch. Whether wading, drifting, or fishing structure-lined banks, it means you don’t need duplicate flies or multiple setups. You just grab what you need and stay nimble.

Technical Details

  • Standard Foam Insert: Comes with one Standard System Foam insert:
    Large: 8 rows
    Medium: 6 rows
    Small: 5 rows
  • Mounting / Wear Options: Neck strap included; supports either 1-point or 2-point hanging to suit your preference.
  • Compatibility: Works with C&F Universal System Foam (from their Universal System Fly Case, Boat Box, etc.) so you can swap foams between your box and patch.
  • Construction & Weight: Light and durable material; minimal bulk so it doesn’t interfere when wading or casting.

Why It Works in South Africa

  • In South Africa’s varied waters—clear mountain streams, big dams, or shaded river banks—you often need to change flies quickly or carry a small selection of favourites. This fly patch keeps them right on your chest for fast access.
  • When hiking or wading steep sections (Cape freestones, mountain headwaters), every gram and every motion matters—lightweight patches reduce fatigue and snag risk.
  • In dam structure (weed edges, submerged timber) or estuaries where flashy or nuisance flies need swapping often, this system patch lets you adapt without pulling out full fly boxes.
  • Helps with local species targeting: trout, Yellowfish, bass, and species in estuaries—any place where you benefit from switching flies often and staying mobile.
